Our collection itself is a product of the diverse lives, experiences and sensibilities of the artists; it is a space for interaction and dialogue through both conversation and the visual arts.
Challenging, provoking and questioning reality through the power of the image, the Nicole Brachetti Peretti Collection distils and concentrates the pressing political and philosophical concerns of the modern age through art and the examination of the artists’ voices.
We believe that contemporary art has the potential to establish a universal critique and global education on the human condition of those whose lives differ to our own.
Our responsibility
At the Nicole Brachetti Peretti Collection, we feel a huge responsibility towards society. The place of art in society is powerful and affecting, so our collection must represent cultures, ideologies and philosophies across the scope of the varied artists within the collection. Our commitment to contemporary culture and art is part of a broader quest for a more connected and tolerant world. Our beliefs
Contemporary artistic practice is a way to establish links with today’s society through the use of signs, symbols, forms, gesture and objects. We believe that contemporary art and culture is a way to better understand the world and a way to connect and grasp our time. We believe art has to be understood above its material form: it is an element of a union, a prism through which we view our surroundings.
Our journey
To build a collection is a passionate and responsible journey, without a final destination. It is, above all a way to build up a vision of the world – a frame where all the works web into each other. A collection is a narration built up by all the artists that are part of it. Each with different life paths and sensibilities. It is an open book where all the works and projects interconnect with each other. It is not a straight line, but rather an irregular passage. Each work has its own importance and significance, with a fundamental subjectivity conditioned by their history.
Our collection
We have built a collection about the ways of seeing, perceiving surroundings, the capacity of art to generate images and observe the world; as well as criticise it and underline its contradictions.
The Nicole Brachetti Peretti Collection is focused on emerging international artists and has a special gaze on Latin American Art. We feel a responsibility with every acquisition, as what today is contemporary, may one day be historic.
