About NMAC
The NMAC Foundation is a non-profit art collection and educational programme in Southern Spain. The Foundation supports contemporary artists on specific projects, promoting social dialogue and understanding through art. The NMAC Foundation’s strong sense of social responsibility was a guiding force for the Nicole Brachetti Peretti Collection, which provides support to emerging artists from Latin America.
Since 2001, the Foundation has invited artists from all corners of the world to undertake site-specific projects in the form of installations, sculptures, photography, video-painting, performances and architectural projects within nature. Crucially, each of the works maintains a close relationship with its surroundings, amongst the Dehesa de Montenmedio.
Objective
The NMAC Foundation’s central objective is to offer a vision of contemporary art in which the natural landscape, be it environmental, social or historical, is a determinant in the creation of the works by the diverse artists it invites. The entire creative process, from the conceptual phase up to the production of each work, is undertaken in the province of Cadiz by local technicians and companies under the artist’s direction.
Education is also paramount in the vision of the NMAC Foundation. Its pedagogical outreach involves guided visits of the site, workshops for young artists and schools, poetry readings, concerts and the creation of editorial publications and teaching materials for schools and families.
